"A Very Special House and Gardens to Rent in Historic, Rural Somerset"
Cossington
Park is a very special house with extensive, superbly maintained gardens in
the heart of one of England's finest tourist locations.
Cossington Park is available to rent on a self-catering basis for families and friends, reunions and as a retreat.
Cossington Park accommodates up to 13 (plus two cots) in six beautifully decorated bedrooms.
Set in 22 acres, Cossington Park has extensive, beautifully maintained,
peaceful gardens for the exclusive use of our guests. The house and gardens
are looked after by a dedicated and caring team, led by our manageress, Lesley
Marshman. Guests are welcome to help themselves to fresh fruit and vegetables
in season.
My ancestors have owned Cossington Park for over 300 years. Because it is a
private home, Cossington Park's furniture and paintings reflect our family
history: the bookcase in The Drawing Room carved
by my father's stepmother; the wheel supports in The
Library taken from my grandfather's ship, 'The Devonshire'; the 5000
books collected by successive generations since the late 17 th Century.
Cossington Park is located in the pretty village of Cossington in Somerset, on the edge of the Polden Hills and the Somerset Levels, between Glastonbury and Bridgwater, and just three and a half miles from the M5 motorway. Within easy access are many of the West Country's beauty spots and attractions including: Cheddar Gorge and Caves; Dunster Castle; Exmoor, the Brendon Hills, the Mendips and the Quantocks; the cities of Bath and Wells; Glastonbury Priory and Tor; Longleat; and Wookey Hole Caves.
We hope that you will find the atmosphere at Cossington Park informal and friendly, yet rather special. Our guests include family and friend reunions and writers and artists. It is above all quiet, a place to relax, to be at peace, with good friends and family, and good books. We hope that your stay here will be enjoyable and that you will come again.
