Jolly Monks is a large room facing south over the garden. The originals of the Jolly Monks gargoyles and Great Tom bell, featured on the doorknocker, are to be found in Sherborne Abbey in the county of Dorset, but I like to think that two Jolly Monks slept in the high, carved twin beds (3'6") in this room ...
... and that Great Tom is an affectionate name for the large Victorian rolled-top bath. The bathroom is very large and has a separate shower. The bedroom is decorated in glazed pink and the bathroom in green. Jolly Monks is located in the 1901 wing, and is the room where I was born.
